Kurnell Reservoir – Relining and Roof Replacement
Kurnell Reservoir – Relining and Roof Replacement
Description:
The objective of the project was to remove the existing bitumen lining and replace with a contemporary epoxy coating (in accordance with current Sydney Water specifications), which has a superior life, is safer to handle and may be patch repaired in the future. The project involved replacement of the existing roof structure with an all-aluminium roof to provide additional corrosion resistance properties along with reduced maintenance and lifecycle costs.
In addition, opportunistic improvements to the reservoir including ventilation, inflow management and access were to be undertaken whilst the reservoir was offline and empty.
