Stoney Pinch Reservoir – Joint Replacement

Description:

Stoney Pinch Reservoir is located at Black Hill on Donaldson Coal Mine. It is a reinforced concrete structure built in 1940 that has developed a number of cracks in the walls and floor resulting in considerable water leakage from the reservoir.

Key Aspects:
The purpose of the rehabilitation works was to significantly reduce the leakage from the reservoir by carrying out: o Installation of 232lm of Combiflex wall joint repair system o Installation of 313lm of Combiflex wall to floor joint repair system o Installation of 20lm of Combiflex floor joint repair system o Repair of existing wall joint system o Repair of existing floor joint system
As Hunter Water was isolating the reservoir to carry out the repairs, Freyssinet Australia had to complete the works during the specified shutdown program and satisfy the client expectation for quality while achieving an incident-free project.
