Stray Current Electrolysis & Railway Traction Mitigation Services

Description:

The provision of stray current electrolysis mitigation services involves the field testing, engineering analysis and control implementation for a number of asset owners in the Sydney metropolitan area. These works include the regular (3 and 6 monthly) testing of stray current mitigation systems on buried metallic structures, typically including:

1. Data logging at test points along the length of the structure

2. Testing of rail connectivity and isolation systems

3. Analysis and interpretation of results

4. Mitigation of any adverse effects

5. Representation at the NSW Electrolysis Committee (of which Freyssinet Australia is a member).

Key Aspects:
Freyssinet Australia personnel include a number of Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) accredited corrosion technologists and technicians who are highly skilled and experienced with stray current electrolysis and railway traction mitigation.
Freyssinet has represented asset owners in traction areas to protect these structures since 2014 and has assisted with the stray current management design for a number of key projects including the Greater River City Light Rail and Sydney Light Rail projects.
