Gibbes Street Balcony Repairs
Gibbes Street Balcony Repairs
Description:
Willoughby Council owned commercial factory units at 27 Gibbes Street, Chatswood. After only few years after the construction of the building, the Council noticed leaks under each balcony.
Community relations strategies were implemented to liaise with tenants on a daily basis to ensure the remediation works did not impact their business
The project involved:
- Repairing the balcony of 8 units.
- Replacement of the balcony membrane system.
- Installation of new insulation.
- Façade membrane coating.
- Replacement of awnings.
- Façade painting of the common area.
- Replacement of the movement joint.
Key Aspects:
Access to the balconies was via each unit, so the main challenge of this project was to minimise the noise impact on the tenants, avoid any damage inside the units, and to complete the balcony repairs in just three weeks.
