Freyssibar

Developed by Freyssinet, Freyssibar is a prestressing system which comprises of a wide range of threaded bar and complementary anchoring, coupling and extension devices. It is used for post-tensioned cables and prestressed ground anchors and can also be transferred to any application involving temporary or permanent tie rods. The standard range of nominal diameters is: 26.5mm, 32mm, 36mm, 40mm and 50mm. Non-standard diameter bars can also be delivered on request. The fabrication process provides a high-quality thread ensuring high fatigue resistance and a low susceptibility to stress corrosion. The nature of the Freyssibar manufacturing method also ensures that every single bar is stress tested to 85% of the guaranteed ultimate tensile strength of the bar. The geometry of the thread is specifically designed to ensure ease of use on site, providing fast, accurate and easy tightening. Bars are available in maximum lengths of 11.8 meters. Beyond this length, extension sleeves allow bars to be connected together.

The high-tensile post tensioning bars are suitable for short tendons and temporary works. A wide range of bar diameters and properties is available – from 26mm to 90mm, with tensile strengths from 1030Mpa to 1200MPa.

Freyssibar+ bars are produced using a heat treatment process that delivers enhanced mechanical performance. They offer a superior combination of mechanical strength and ductility to conventional prestressing bars. Freyssibar+ bars are especially suited to prestressing, strapping and lifting operations, where their mechanical strength can be leveraged to develop space-saving solutions. 55mm to 97mm
