Point Street Bridge Repair
Description:
Point Street bridge is located in Point Street, Pyrmont, north of John Street. Freyssinet Australia completed an inspection of the bridge in 2009 and identified a large number of panels that were drummy, installed under the bridge soffit.
Access under this bridge had to be provided from the road with an underbridge truck. The initial contract included the epoxy injection of 26 panels out of a total of 264. When doing the works, Freyssinet found more panels that could not be accessed during the inspection which also required epoxy injections.

Spalling concrete repairs.
Removal of 11 CFC panels.
Provision of anchor points.
Epoxy injection of roof sheeting.
Provision of access with underbridge unit truck.
Works were completed during railway shutdown periods. In some areas, CFC panels had to be taken out to refurbish concrete behind them. Anchors also had to be installed through CFC panels to provide permanent support with epoxy injection.
