Woronora Pipeline Remedial Works
Woronora Pipeline Remedial Works
Another very successful project, and one in which we were able to continue building strong relationships with our clients, customers and supply chain.
The Woronora pipeline is a 27km DN1200 watermain which takes drinking water from Woronora Dam, through to Como. A large section of the pipeline is located within the Heathcote National Park, and there are a number of stakeholders involved with the asset and project.
The scope for the Woronora Pipeline Remedial Works project included:
- Replacement of over 300 side support anchors,
- Replacement of over 100 Pipe Saddles,
- Repair of 65 leaking joints
Freyssinet designed and patented the cast iron pipe saddles which offered cost savings and innovation to the client, Sydney Water. The project was delivered through some challenging times, including the unrelenting bushfires experience in late 2019, at which point Freyssinet made the decision to cease all hot works, demobilise from site, and return 4 months later, once the risk of fire had been significantly reduced.
A big well done to our Remedial team and everyone involved.
