Freyssinet are seeking an experienced and professional Mechanical Fitter for our Blacktown warehouse, your key responsibilities will be to assist in performing day to day preventative maintenance, installation and construction tasks associated with the mechanical maintenance of the plant for our Eastern operations. In this role you will report to the Mechanical Supervisor and you will be working alongside a crew of like-minded trades people to deliver work within a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities of the role:

  • Ensure work tasks are conducted in accordance with company procedures
  • Physical ability to complete manual handling tasks which are the inherent requirements of this position throughout the working day. Including (bending, low- and high-level work, lifting, pushing, pulling and handling unstable and awkward loads)
  • To provide assistance to Supervisor in the monitoring, running and servicing of plant, site and machinery
  • Operate plant and equipment which they have been trained, assessed and authorised in throughout the course of their duties.
  • Complete repairs, routine and emergency maintenance, within limits of trade and skill set to ensure effective operation of machinery.
  • Report writing skills 
  • Continually strive to improve processes, performance and longevity of equipment under your care.
  • Continually achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is operated in a safe manner
  • Comply with all company and legislative safety procedures
  • Ensure all environmental and safety measures are in place and operational
  • Work to continuously improve the safety culture and performance.
  • Identify safety issues and problems ensuring corrective action is taken and monitored.
  • Ensure all work is completed with a “Safety First” mindset and continually be aware of the safety of others.

Skill & Qualifications Required:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Current Drivers Licence (Minimum Class C Manual)
  • Forklift Licence
  • Skid Steer (Bobcat optional)
  • Crane License/Dogman (desirable)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to undergo a Police Check
  • Willingness to undergo a medical evaluation
